[opensuse] evolution + imap and unread message count
I am running evolution 2.28.2 on an openSUSE 11.2 system. It is up-to-date with GNOME updates from openSUSE. One account is managed by courier imap, running on a remote openSUSE 11.2 system. For some reason, one or two folders claim that there are a couple of unread messages. But I cannot see them. All messages are read. I have tried refreshing the folder. I have tried selecting all messages and setting them to not read and then to read. It makes no difference. The unread count stays. If new messages arrive, the unread count increases by the new messages. After they are read, the mysterious unread count remains. I have more than one system accessing the imap server, both running the same version of evolution. But the problem is only on one of them. The system with the problem can occasionally loose contact with the imap server. I am guessing that this happened at some inopportune time. My question is, how can I force evolution to correct it's concept of the number of unread messages? I bet I could remove the account and add it back. But there are many thousands of messages in many folders. I am hoping there could be a better way. -- Roger Oberholtzer Ramböll RST/OPQ Ramböll Sverige AB Krukmakargatan 21 P.O.
