I am rebuilding an old redhat 7.1 firewall box the hard drive failed. All other hardware remained the same. Anyway setup 9.3 fully patched no problems. Go to setup the second nic card and problems start. Everything seems to have worked both card installed and configured. However if I reboot the system both nics drop. They still show up is yast as being configured. "ifup eth0" and "ifup eth1" both say ERROR: Interface eth0 is not available. If I do a cold boot they both come up correctly. I figured it had to be something with plug-n-play in the bios. I have tried both pnp enabled os and no pnp enabled os same results. What else can cause this. I am so confused.
