I use su(lowercase, I am not a newbie :)). When I type in su, I then put in the password and I get login incorrect. I have used Aterm/Eterm/Xterm(from the KDE YAST2 menu)/Konsole. I have not changed to a different console i.e. Alt+F2. How do I get this to work? What exactly do you mean by "you can't use "SU"? What exactly happens? Do you get an error message? Please note, that the command "su" is all lowercase - just to be sure you type it correctly :) Bye, LenZ -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ Lenz Grimmer SuSE GmbH mailto:grimmer@suse.de Schanzaeckerstr. 10 http://www.suse.de/~grimmer/ 90443 Nuernberg, Germany You tell 'em Skyscraper, you have more than one story. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq and the archives at http://lists.suse.com

Do your permissions look like this? % ls -l /bin/su -rwsr-xr-x 1 root root 31169 May 12 14:05 /bin/su If not, that's the reason it doesn't work. -- -Brian Clark | PGP is spoken here: 0xE4D0C7C8 Please, DO NOT carbon copy me on list replies.
