I tried that a couple times, no dice. No No. You shouldn't need to do anything like that. When you connect the iPod do you get a mass-storage mount message from GNOME? Perhaps you are missing a package, if you "zypper search ipod" what shows as installed? I don't recall what package is used to manage the ipod, I'll have to check later. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I have a 'Generation 6 iPod Classic' that forces me to keep a Windoze installation available with iTunes installed because that's the only way I can use it. I think most, if not all, of the prior models worked fine under Linux but 'Generation 6' and later have encrypted firmware, making one's iTunes maintained Library inaccessible except from iTunes. I could be wrong about other models, though, so you'll want to research and confirm the case with your specific model and serial number. regards, Carl -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Try using the -d switch so zypper will also search the description field as well. zypper se -d ipod -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

You probably need to install that one; Banshee is a .NET application, so it requires the .NET bindings for libgpod. See <http://banshee.fm/?s=ipod> <quote> Our ipod-sharp/podsleuth-based backend still exists, but this libgpod based backend is the future. This is its first release, so it should be considered beta quality; please file bugs! </quote> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
