Hello, I'm having problems restarting my computer and using my keyboard. It's running now but it took 8 reboots to get it back online. During startup I've gotten two different error messages: 1. GRUB Geom Error 3. Starting kernel based NFS server (system usually freezes here) A related and more fundamental problem is that during startup. BIOS or GRUB(I assume) is not initializing my usb keyboard. I have Windows XP on this drive also. Do you think the DOS MBR is preventing me from using my keyboard at this point. IF I use the install DVD I still cannot use my keyboard to choose a different option on the startup screen. I'm going to create a rescue disc, a boot floopy and a module disc with at least the usb module. But I'm going to wait for responses from this list first. I don't want to do this without all the advise I can get. Thanks, Jerome

Can you give EXACT details of the errors...

No, it is likely the BIOS where this problem lies. Check to see if you have a BIOS option to allow USB keyboard support, and make sure it is set correctly. HTH Dylan -- Sweet moderation Heart of this nation Desert us not We are between the wars - Billy Bragg

HTH Dylan I sent this machine out for repairs. I think there is a hardware problem. Thanks, Jerome

Strange, I have been having the same problem of late. Did you update any packages, say kde, or YOU stuff, etc....?
