I did something...don't ask me what...and now my moniter shuts off before the screensave kicks on....I'd really like the monitor to not shut off.. I only have KDE installed....HELP! -- Michael Comperchio The integrity of the output is dependent on the integrity of the input mcmprch@yahoo.com 860 485 8488 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
OK... I should mention I'm not using KDE but I can rememeber how it works in KDE... Try going into the KDE Control Center and find the Power Management module (using the search function maybe). There should be some function in there to set how long your monitor wants to stay on. On Mon, 2007-10-01 at 20:27 -0400, Michael Comperchio wrote:

Hi, sorry, bit of a a hijack, but I have the opposite problem - when I use mplayer (gmplayer or smplayer) the monitor will not go blank and shut off? When I go to the Power management and just adjust the values up and down and save it works again. As if the "process" needs a restart after mplayer was run? I'm not exactly sure... it's possible that MPlayer turns off the power management functions and then forgets to turn them back off. I didn't know it does that. On Tue, 2007-10-02 at 09:02 +0200, Hans van der Merwe wrote:

I guess that is Control Center -> Peripherals -> Display -> Power Control -> Configure KPowersave There you can change stand by after, suspend after, power off after... And to check the screen saver time, right click on desktop -> Configure Desktop -> Screen Saver Sergey -- Sergey Mkrtchyan, PhD Student @ Department of Physics & Astronomy, Faculty of Science, University of Waterloo -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
