I have worked too long in the Networking of Graphic Design shops. I am loosing touch with the personal gear. I need a recomendation for a personal printer for the house....I was looking at buying a refurb H/P What I like is the 5l & 6l because of the footprint (I have 5 systems packed into the bedroom) I am aware there are models that have the Jetdirect built in and all that, I am wondering though if anyone has experience with this guy? I see a lot of them being sold on Ebay; are they junk? I've been using HP since I a couple of years now and they never caused any trouble. When I started with Linux, it was no problem to get my HP6L working (I configured it as a hp 4l) Connected to one Linux box it serves as a printer for 4 more pc's, 3 of them are windooz. I use Samba for the win-lin connection. I still miss my old HP 4l a little as i preferred having the paperbin in a drawer, instead of standing upright, less 'curly'. But the 6l is a lot faster. Anyway, no need for jet direct or anything, nor do you need a dedicated printer server. hope this helps, jeroen
