Still can't get the latest samba binaries to inatall on SuSE 9.3. I've downloaded them from the samba site and from ftp://ftp.primastasys.com/pub/Samba-Packages/ still no joy. The problem is library related:

I've contacted Lars about this.

Anybody got the binaries to work with 9.3??? Any other thoughts???

Hmm.. Lucky you. I'm not so lucky. Here is the problem. The 9.3 binaries from (1) the samba site; (2) ftp.primastasys.com/pub/Samba-Packages and from ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/samba/ are all looking for the following files to satisfy dependancies: liblber.so.2 is needed by libsmbclient3-3.0.20-1 libldap.so.2 is needed by libsmbclient3-3.0.20-1 I don't and those libraries. That is the problem. I have: /usr/lib/liblber-2.2.so.7 /usr/lib/libldap-2.2.so.7 It may be a glibc problem, I dunno. The so.2 libraries were present in suse 8.2-9.0 according to google.
