Hi, Has anybody managed to get Corel PhotoPaint 9 on SuSE 6.4 ? It claims that libc6 version 2 or higher is required. I got this crap (2.1.3) installed from source code but it still says that libc6 is not present. However getlibcver (a little program which finds the version number of libc) says 2.1.3 is installed ! Is there anybody who can help ? I did get it working fine. I also had the same problem but I found that for
some reason if I ran the setup script from the CD I had burned, I got that
message. To get around it I copied the files to my hard drive and every
thing went fine. Also I had to run the install script twice because the
first time I got a segmentation fault and quit. I seem to get this error
quite often when trying to unzip and untar files and also when using the rpm
command. Does anyone know why I might get a segmentation fault?

Hello David, Could you please tell me where did you get Corel Photopaint 9 for Linux. Is it on public domain? I couldn't find it. Thanks in advance. Alex

Hi Alex, Take a look at http://linux.corel.com . It is not public domain, nor open source, but it is free to download and use (I'm downloading it right now!). -Tim ----------------------------------------------------------------- Timothy R. Hi, I had no problems at all. I have ran all the updates from the SuSE site before hand, then installed. Which package did you download? I downloaded the set of rpms, CorelPHOTOPAINT9LnxRPM.tar.gz. Untarred it and ran the installation script. RikD "T. Koray Peksayar" wrote:

I have glibc 2.1.3 on SuSE-6.4 and Photopaint 9 works fine. Maybe the fact you installed from source is the problem. The installation script might just be looking for the rpm being installed. Try installing all the Photopaint packages by hand. It'll probably work without problems.
