RE: [SLE] Anyone else waiting on a 9.1 back order
In Australia, I have had SuSE 9.1 Pro on a pre-order since mid-April...still waiting. Still, after reading the postings on this list I am glad. Hopefully all your Horror Stories of installation and configuration will be solved with patches before I go to install. :-) Cheers Paul

It still hasn't shipped. What are they doing, having monks transcribe the documentation by hand? As far as horror stories, I haven't been following. Are there more problems with 9.1 than previous version, or are expectations simply higher? - -- Regards, Steven -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAwkIbwX61+IL0QsMRAl8tAKD0Q34VXgb+ARF2Ig/TWvlBWCnKQQCgmBgM ZacBuvtX5jhX/tilcjp+kq8= =zgfy -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

I finally received mine today. I had ordered it on May 13th and it was shipped on the 15th. When I received it, the shipping carton was beat up & taped together. and the SuSE product box was also damaged. It appears as though the damage occurred after it cleared customs, so thank you Canada Post. It also took them 8 days to deliver it after it cleared customs, even though the total distance from the airport, to the postal sorting station to here, would be less than about 16 Km (10 miles) Despite the damage to the packaging, the contents appear to be in good shape.

Man! There's got to be a better solution. I know a modem is vital to your ability to use your computer, but it the grand scheme of the OS it's almost trivial. It depends what you use it for, I guess. For me, 9.0 is starting to feel ancient. Getting mono installed was a PITA, but, from the looks of it, mono will slide right in on 9.1. I'll need a new main board to get the stupid hyper-threading to work on this box, so 2.6.x does little for me. Did you contact SuSE support about your modem problem? That seems like it should be covered under installation support. - -- Regards, Steven -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAw3RDwX61+IL0QsMRAq9mAKCkwEiaBZQ8CjUS85uo9wFwlLQ8YwCeK8LC hAqKfofNXQWkHhB6QOUPoOA= =3sWB -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
