[opensuse] SLES / T umbleweed
Hi all, I'm thinking about making (for one of my projects), the step towards "Tumbleweed". Main reason is, that each time after the official release, we need too much time to make our systems up-and-running again. The hope is, that with a rolling-release, the steps from week-to-the-next-week, will be significant smaller. However, I'm dependent upon packages** only made for SLES / RHEL / Ubuntu. Is it worth trying, or can you tell me that it will be a waste of time. **those packages are: openvpn-NL, Smartcard drivers by AET, and Citrix-client. Not here.

Possibly, but you get hundreds of them. On major leap upgrades you may find that several applications changed, and their configuration files have to be adapted. Ok. In TW you undergo the same thing, but distributed over many weeks. Now one app changes, then another app changes... All in all, you have to do about the same changes. But earlier. In fact, you using TW are paving the way for me, so, thanks ;-) - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R.
