I like to have a SETI work-unit in reserve. That envolves doing a swap-over A ---> B and B ---> A I tried to write a script to do this, but it won't run, as 'root' :- ................................................ #!/bin/sh # Swap SETI Units for transmission # cd /home/tab3 cp *.sah /home/tab3/tmp/ cd /home/tab3 mv *.sah *.zah cd /home/tab3 mv *.zah /home/tabanna/ cd /home/tabanna cp *.sah /home/tabanna/tmp/ cd /home/tabanna mv *.sah /home/tab3/ cd /home/tabanna mv *.zah *.sah cd /home/tabanna rm lock.sah cd /home/tabanna chown tabanna *.sah cd /home/tab3 rm lock.sah cd /home/tab3 chown tab3 *.sah cd ~ .......................................... ~ Any idea what's wrong ? best :) -- ____________ sent on Linux ___________ -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

When you state "it won't run" , what does that mean ? The script does not work ? The script does not execute ? Some part does not execute ? Please post the error message to the list. Also please explain what you mean by "to have a SETI work-unit in reserve." Do you want to run 2 setis at the same time? Try taking the << and >> out. Try this #!/bin/sh cd /home/blah mv *.fig /something/blah exit your editor here, then do a chmod 755 name_of_script. Also if you have say a filename "--s.fig" that could throw a sytnax error.
