Why? what does it say? Did you run a fsck on it? Ah, please, don't do that! (below). It is thread hijacking, and you haven't even removed the useless text of the original poster (meself, in this case).

Here is what I recommend: 1. boot the SuSE Rescue CD. You will now be running with a ram disk root. 2. run fsck on each of your filesystems (except swap). Note that Reiser and EXT3 should have repaired automatically on boot. However in the past, if ReiserFS was in need of a repair, I needed to run reiserfsck manually. If all the fscks run successfully, then I suggest that you mount them each just to make sure. Next, when rebooting, boot into single user mode. At the LILO/GRUB screen, just type 1 in the boot options line at the bottom. Once you are successful, then go into multi-user mode (non graphical). Just type /sbin/init 3. You might want to disconnect your Pilot cradle and other hot plug devices (eg. unplug the USB cables). It is possible that you Palm Pilot might be doing something. If you get this far, then you can either proceed by typing /sbin/init 5 (as root), or by simply rebooting (using shutdown). If you encounter any problems at this point, try to check the logs. The dmesg command often provides some useful information. - -- Jerry Feldman <gaf@blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2-rc1-SuSE (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/Yygp+wA+1cUGHqkRAlyBAJ97LSxTOVWtGeVGhLh/sd+8WrP6zQCeLRcw W6+JmB1BK16hbJoakuhO728= =UUia -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
