two installations of openoffice (fwd)
I am resending this mail. I sent it yesterday mornig but it still has not appeared on the list. Hello suse users: I am running suse 10.0 with kde 3.5.1 I have the official suse version of openoffice installed. I would like to install beside this the hungarian version from fsf. With version 1.x I could do it easily since the original openoffice version was not in rpm format. Now I don't know how I can install both these two openoffice versions since both are distributed in rpm form. What is the solution? Thanks in advance, IG _________________________________________________________________________ Több ezer állás Magyarországon és Európában. Állást keres ? Mi segítünk! Check out the rpm options "--prefix" and "--relocate". I think they'll do what you're asking here. /Per Jessen, Zürich

It is possible to have both the SUSE and original OO versions installed at the same time. I had that here for a while, though I was using the English version.

Thanks! You're right. I should have thought of this, since the package names are different. Now I have another question: I installed hungarian openoffice.org first. It placed its start menu entries in start-menu/office/OpenOffice.org 2.0 Base, start- menu/office/OpenOffice.org 2.0 Calc etc. I installed then the official suse openoffice. Now it has no start menu entries in the start menu. How can I generate these? Thanks, IG

You can use the menu editor. Just copy the Hungarian ones and make the appropriate changes.

Thanks. I started the menu editor and found that the entries are there. They are only not visible in the startmenu. But this would be anoter topic. Thanks once more.
