[opensuse] Helping test KDE4
Is there no straightforward way to get and install the current builds? I'd be more than willing to do some QA, but everything I've seen so far has involved setting up to build everything from scratch. Frequently, I'm led to believe, as KDE4 is still a fast moving target. Doesn't it make sense that there are enough potential testers with openSuSE 10.3 systems for someone to make a repository available from which the core libraries and applications could be installed? I spend 60 or so hours a week writing, debugging, and building software. When I come home, I want to use it, not build it. Is there a frequently updated source somewhere, where I could install versions to test, or is it all still in the do-it-yourself stage? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

There is this... http://home.kde.org/~binner/kde-four-live/ ...the last update is about a week ago. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I spend 60 or so hours a week writing, debugging, and building software. When I come home, I want to use it, not build it. Great, Jerry, thank you :-)

Better wait until tomorrow though, as currently download.opensuse.org has problems again. Kind regards Philippe -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

It is.

Once you have added those repos using zypper or the one-click-installer linked to from the wiki, you can keep up to date either by repeating the one-click to refresh the packages, or "zypper up -t package -r <alias-of-kde4-repo>" will update just the packages from that repo.
