[opensuse] Quick one about network settings
I must be missing the obvious, but when I ran network settings it came up with both wlan0 and eth0 disabled. The only thing I saw missing was the device "Module Name under Hardware". I tried to insert the module name but the GUI would not accept it. Don't know why. I deleted these two adapters and edited the disabled line to reinsert exactly what had previously been in the lines it said were deactivated. So now the system works, but eth0 has turned into eth1, and wlan0 has turned into wlan1. How can I change the eth1 back to eth0, and the same for wlan1. If I do ifup or ifdown, I would like the interfaces the same on all of my machines. Thanks, hope this is simple:-) Don -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

YaST, network settings, overview, edit. Hardware tab. udev rules, change. Write new name in the box (based on Mac tick). Finally, Next button. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.2 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)
