Try searching on www.tucows.com. AFAIR there is a free XServer for Windows but I don't remember its name. But it's only an implementation of X11R5 and leaves much to desire. -- Philipp Thomas <pthomas@suse.de> If God had meant us to be brave, why did he give us legs ? -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
Is there a freeware program that I can run that will allow me to run an X windows display on my PC under windows? Yes... I use X-Win32 from http://www.starnet.com -- It costs $200 but you can download a fully functional demo for free. The demo does everything the retail version does, except that it exits after two hours. You can re-run it again for another two hours, however. I think the company hopes you will find the every two-hour restart annoying enough to puchase it. I have used the product on Win95, Win98, and WinNT 4.0 (service pack 4) without a problem. Very best, Buddy Coffey Advanced Electromagnetics P. S. - If you are an academic type, I think the company offers special, discount licensing. <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HEAD> <META content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" http-equiv=Content-Type> <META content="MSHTML 5.00.2314.1000" name=GENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=#ffffff> <BLOCKQUOTE style="BORDER-LEFT: #000000 2px solid; MARGIN-LEFT: 5px; MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 5px; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px"> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Arial>Is there a freeware program that I can run that will allow me to run an X windows display on my PC under windows?</FONT></DIV></BLOCKQUOTE> <DIV>Yes...
