I finally have the nVidia GeForce2 card working with kernel 2.4.0. I am using XFree86 4.01 (4.02 is reported to have a corrected driver for the GeForce2 in it). I looked over the nVidia site again and saw they have a new release for their driver. Look for the driver at revision 0.9-6 if you are going to use 2.4.0! I've been beating my head against the wall of the earlier release to no avail. Go to their FTP site and get the sources not the binary rpms. I chose the tar balls (*.tar.gz) thoug source rpms are available. The compiles (kernel and glx) worked cleanly, the first time, and my XF86Config file that I used previously still worked. I'm lucky it worked because just prior to this compile I accidently compiled these drivers over my working drivers for 2.2.16. 2.2.16 not work now :-< oh well! Now on to the USB bus and my scanner. I hadn't got that working yet in 2.2.16. Had trouble with the kernal compiling with the USB back port from 2.4.0. Now at least that part moot. Have fun, all!
