When I try to load any music (by "opening a folder") with rhythmbox, I get a message telling me "failed to create gnomevfssrc element; check your installation," one for each file. (I use all OGG's, BTW.) I opened up my sources.list file to include everything, but all the relevant packages seem to be installed already. Install gstreamer-plugins-default and run gst-register (as your user) I'll make it an explicit dependency when I next build rhythmbox - my bad -- James Ogley james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://rubberturnip.org.uk

Oops. It's gstreamer that's the problem here. Adding some extra gstreamer modules pulled in some non-ulb-gnome sources (pm, for starters), and I'm off to the races. Also, I did this with synaptic pulled from the same place as apt. Niiiiice. Woohoo! Now my ULB-Gnome system seems to be firing on all 8 cylinders! Highest regards, James, dk
