I need to disable vj compression: man <????> or which file does 'novj' go in? At one time I found the answer on GOOGLE but misplaced it. Now, I cannot find the method for disabling vj compression. ISDN isn't working quite right with it enabled. Thanks! -- ..."Yogi" CH Namasté Yoga Studio "If music be the food of love, why can't rabbits sing?"

Check /etc/ppp/peers/isdn/<appropriate file> -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Registered Linux user 231871

-- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Registered Linux user 231871 Sorry... realize I made an error. I am using the ppp dialup since the router is a standalone hooked to USB. I think that'll make a difference. -- ..."Yogi" CH Namasté Yoga Studio "If music be the food of love, why can't rabbits sing?"

-- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Registered Linux user 231871 Thanks. THat was it... couldn't remember. I looked in the pppoe file & novj is specified. So now I'm puzzled as to why I'm getting those darned compression errors. Something strange is going on, here. But then, I don't know what I expected w/this box. ;-) -- ..."Yogi" CH Namasté Yoga Studio "If music be the food of love, why can't rabbits sing?"

I don't use pppoe, but my '/etc/ppp/peers/pppoe' file has:
...
# switch off all compressions (this is a must)
nopcomp
# this is recommended
novjccomp
noccp
What is that about? You know I'm interested, I have problems with ppp.
Perhaps I should try that on my regular ppp or wvdial files. I'll try...
anything would be better that what I'm getting. In my logs I see:
