I want only 192.168.1.46 to be able to connect via ssh. In hosts.deny I have put: ssh:all except 192.168.1.46 but everyone else can still ssh. What's wrong with this syntax? Cheers, Steve. 9.3

I couldn't manage to setup hosts.allow/hosts.deny, so I went rather for /etc/ssh/sshd_conf and set AllowUsers *@domainna.me (e.g. in my particular situation it's: AllowUsers *@trinity.dummy.net *@agika.dummy.net ) This way only users of the listed comps can connect, everybody else gets rejected. Tried and works well here! Regards, Pelibali

The way it normally works, is that you put the ones you want in hosts.allow and then all in hosts.deny, to keep everyone else out.
