Does anybody know if Suse 8 supports the ATI Radeon 7000. Its not listed in the Suse support database but the xfree86 website says its supported. Thanks Simon --- Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Version: 6.0.377 / Virus Database: 211 - Release Date: 2002/07/15
Yes, it's supports it... Make sure you install xf86_glx if you want 3D to work. - Herman Simon Taplin wrote:

Simon, If you should obtain this card for your machine, please let us know if suddenly your wheel mouse stops working after you get it set up for your system. I have the 7200 Radeon and love it by the way, but after installing it, my scroll wheel stopped working on my Logitech Optical wheel mouse. I also can't use the IMPS/2 command in my settings, which I think activates the scroll? If I add IMPS/2, my mouse pointer moves directly to the corner of my screen and refuses to work until I change it back to PS/2 only. Maybe someone else has had some experience with this here? Maybe figured out how to remedy it? Not a critical problem in the whole scheme of things, but just like to fix these little things. ;o) Patrick Oh, Simon, the 7000 & 7200 are very closely related and I believe the ID may even be the same. Mine is QD. I would say you will be very happy with the card's performance in 2d and 3d use. -- --- KMail v1.4.2 --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.0 --- Amiga, SuSE Linux, PC Sales & Service Magic Page Products
The 7000 is also known as the VE. The mouse setting for IMPS/2 is what I have used for a USB mouse, wheel not withstanding. Now, I do not use a wheel mouse, but a traditional three button. If you are using the wheel, make sure you have buttons 4 & 5 assigned for "Z Axis Mapping". - Herman Patrick wrote:
