Hi I've installed SuSE 7.1 on my system with kernel 2.4.0, and updated it with k_deflt_24-2.4.2-4.i386.rpm from the ftp-site. This works reasonably, but I want to make some small changes. Therefor I downloaded the sources from the ftp-site, lx_sus24-2.4.2.SuSE-5.i386.rpm, and installed them. I've tried to recompile the sources by using 'make cloneconfig', but the resulting kernel responds differently than the default one from the 2.4.2 rpm. Question: am I using the correct sources? If not, which ones should I use, or is it the wrong kernel-rpm? Or is de .config I create with 'make cloneconfig' not correct? What am I doing wrong? Thanks! Cheers, Cor. suse@csoft.nu
You said that you installed kernel 2.4.2-4 but have sources for 2.4.2-5 They should be different. -Kastus On Mon, Mar 26, 2001 at 11:06:20PM +0200, Cor Slot wrote:
