Hi, This is an FYI. Did you know that while suse-beta-e is password protected at lists.suse.com, the archive of suse-beta-e is still available at http://www.geocrawler.com/lists/3/Suse-Linux/283/0/ The archive covers betas from 6.0 though 8.1. Since SuSE has had closed betas for a while, and since announcement messages on suse-beta-e say eg, "Please keep this information confidential do not publish this URL," SuSE probably should have stopped Geocrawler archiving a while ago. Best regards

Yes but why are you sending this to SLE?

We did. The subscriptions to that list have always been moderated and the person who approved that subscription in 1999 is no longer with SuSE. In line with Sourceforge's notoriously bad administration my requests to have the existing archives removed have gone unanswered. -- -ckm

1. Not a secret. First hit for "suse-beta-e" from www.alltheweb.com or www.google.com is on Geocrawler. 2. For the next beta, someone at SuSE should try to get Geocrawler archiving switched off, so that critical URLs and passwords are not given away. 3. Content of suse-beta-e may be of historical interest to some suse-linux-e members. 4. Geocrawler indicates that there is no current beta in progress. So, the FYI should cause no disruption to SuSE. URLs of ISO images of betas should by now be defunct. Similarly, I assume that since there is no current beta, there is no current beta access to Bugzilla. If I'm wrong about this, sorry.

I know it's not a secret but it has nothing to do with this list. Yes, even on SLE things can be off-topic.

It is and has been for some time now.
4. Geocrawler indicates that there is no current beta in progress.
That's because they no longer receive the list. -- -ckm
