I've been through the manual (man date) but have found no answer to this question: When I use "date -s" to set the time the desktop resets nicely, but the command does not affect the cmos in the computer. How do I get the command to reset the actual system clock? dj tuchler

It's tricky, I always have to refigure it out. Save this somewhere for next time :-). "date MMDDHHMMCCCC " which means : Month Day Hour Minute Year then "hwclock --systohc" -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation
