Hello SuSErs, I'm running SuSE 7.1 pro currently and I am looking to see if they have new kernel rpms available post 2.4.0 off their ftp-site. I feel like I could yank rpms from the 7.2 or 7.3 directory, but I don't know how kosher it would be, etc... Any recommendations are appreciated. Jonathan
Hi! You could go to ftp.suse.com/pub/people/mantel/next (or preferably a mirror) and download a newer kernel from there. The present one is 2.4.10. The easiest way of installing a new kernel is, as you've noticed, by an rpm. There are some instructions on how to install the kernel rpm on: http://www.suse.de/en/support/oracle/db/9i_71_72.html where the instructions are at the bottom of the page. Be sure to do the mk_initrd and lilo steps before you reboot. //Bjorn
