haven't we been though this before? Some missing script in udev? I insert a USB stick. I insert a USB stick. The kernel recognises it but noting happens
let me clarify # fdisk -l does not show up sdb hence there is no /dev/sdb for fdisk and no /dev/sdb1 to mount. It only shows the hard drive, not any inserted USB. Even the ones i made, such as the install-on-a-stick, with an earlier version of the kernel. I do have have fuse/gvfs installed. #lsusb returns, variously Bus 001 Device 021: ID 058f:1234 Alcor Micro Corp. Flash Drive Bus 001 Device 023: ID 14cd:125c Super Top SD card reader and the more vanilla Bus 001 Device 024: ID 0951:1624 Kingston Technology DataTraveler G2 The latter does produce /dev/sdb1 but the KDE device notifier doesn't see it. -- A: Yes. > Q: Are you sure? >> A: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation. >>> Q: Why is top posting frowned upon? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
