Have you used Yast to set the localhost name and your isp stuff? When you say you can never get it too work, I presume you *can* get it to work ocassionally? It's true, as many say on the list, that wvdial is very easy to use and you can forget PPP, as it maintains the CHAP and PAP secrets files automatically. Er, of course, you have to able to connect first in order to download wvdial! ;-) Have you tried kppp? That's also an 'easy' way in... but I would go with wvdial first. diald can be turned off using 'no' in answer to the question Yast poses for /etc/rc.config, or just edit it yourself and run SuSEconfig. k. :My primary problem is that I can never get PPP to work more than a couple :of times in a row -- that is, if I can get it to work at all, which is :rare these days.
