Perhaps a bit dull to report no problems, but given some have been suffering a few difficulties I thought I'd report that using the rpms under the 7.1 for i386 updates directories at ftp.suse.com I have had a nice clean fuss-free install, even curing the Konqueror thumbnailing problems no-one else but me had anyway. There is an rpm for qt 2.3 under the xdev1 directory, so I installed this, its satellites qt-whatever*, then kdesupport, kdelibs, kdebase, the rest, then ran SuSEconfig, xserver simply restarted in perfect order with the new version. Maybe I had an easier ride because I have not tried to do the anti-aliasing thing yet and on this machine I am on xf786 3.x. The fonts I've got look quite nice to me. I am still finding SuSE 7.1 and kde 2 stunningly nice to work with, more kudos still to those responsible.
