Font issues getting worse...
Starting to get these after updating to the newer XFFree42, but had font issues that occured after messing with elven fonts and with kcontrol's font installer. Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.fonts... Updating fonts.scale for truetype Updating fonts.scale for CID Updating X11 font directory truetype... /usr/X11R6/bin/mkfontdir: bad format for /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype/fonts.scale file /usr/X11R6/bin/mkfontdir: failed to create directory in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype Any ideas at all? I think kfontinst has trashed my systems. It was nice at first because it automatically generated the tis620 encodings for the Thai fonts that my wife needs at home. But on my work machine, it messed up Mathematica real bad, and Star Office is still a mess. I have decided to do all the font configuration by hand, and have planned to spend a considerable bit if time in the next few weeks hacking the font situation to death so I can finally be able to make it do what I want an dfix all these problems. Good luck. ____________________________________ Christopher R. Carlen Principal Laser/Optical Technologist Sandia National Laboratories CA USA crcarle@sandia.gov
