You might try putting a modprobe sound into your boot.local file. I can't member the exact syntax but that is what I did.
I think the file is /etc/boot.local

I am running suse 6.3 on a
dule boot system windoze98/suse k62 450 198 meg of ram 10 gig windows disk 3.2 gig linux disk
fresh install of 6.3
I can install the emu10k1 package then run the ./install script and everything seems to be working properly as far as I can tell. the cd player works at least. I do a cat /dev/sndstat and everything seems ok to me.
the problem is I have to run the script every time I log in.. what am I doing wrong?
thanks
