Has anybody in the UK used Telewest's Blueyonder service to connect SuSE 8.0 to the internet? Is the configuration any different to what's in the support database?

Yes, we use them here in Sheffield :-) I am even using the "upgraded" 1MBit service. No problems at all! The engineer who had to come round one time actually has decided to give SuSE linux a try for his home machine as he liked it on mine and how easily it connected. We are using the Motorolla SB4xxxx [can't be bothered to go look at it atm ;o)] external Cablemodem connected via Ethernet. Works well :-) I don't have to reboot for IP changes either [which it rarely does - I have had the same IP now for a few months.]

Once the NIC MAC address is registered at Telewest, thats it. Set up the NIC for DHCP and everthing works fine. I have had no problems for about a year now. Best regards, Les
