I have the following define: log file = /var/log/samba/log.smb I have restarted samba, even rebooted. Samba is not logging. An Identical config on an Irix machine works fine. /var/log/samba exists. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks. CC -2000

What version of Samba? Praise
put 'log level = 3' or more (10 is max) in smb.conf be careful as greater log levels drop performance as they tend to write a lot in the logs dragos Chuck wrote:
