[opensuse] download.virtualbox.org has 12.3 rpms. Will those work on 13.1?
All, I need usb support for virtualbox vm. I have generally always downloaded the rpm from virtualbox along with the extension pack. Currently, the download site only has 11.4 and 12.3 rpms. Will the 12.3 rpm work in 13.1? If not, does the download.opensuse.org package for 13.1 have usb available. Thanks. -- David C. I have VirtualBox-4.3 4.3.12_93733_openSUSE123-1 from http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/rpm/opensuse/12.3/ It works fine, but in Windows 7, when I connect USB flash disc, it sees it, but it can't handle it - some driver problem, I didn't dig it deeper. All other cases work fine. Best, Vojtěch -- Vojtěch Zeisek Komunita openSUSE GNU/Linuxu Community of the openSUSE GNU/Linux http://www.opensuse.org/ http://trapa.cz/

Yes, David, they work fine with 13.1. I've been running 4.3.12 on 13.1 for ages with Windows NT, 2000, XP, 7 and Mac OSX clients and USB works fine with them all. :) BTW, I added my local "downloads" directory as a local rpm repository (through the Yast gui) and install the rpms from there. You can also install them directly from the command line with zypper (rather than using rpm directly); that way, deps are handled as with any other zypper install and they show up in Yast/Zypper as installed. :) (You may already have known that but just in case, and for the benefit of others...). Yep, but it never hurts to kick this old dog to make sure. I haven't done a suse install since 11.4 (no need :), so I'm dragging my laptop unwillingly into the future. biggest issue so far is I would like to cut the nuts of the kde4 crowd that defected and went to mozilla and screwed up my firefox interface. Jesus Christ! the new FF interface SUCKS. I want my f'ing status bar on the bottom damnit!! -- David C. LOL!. To each his own. I actually like the new FF interface, but yeah, I do miss the status bar from time to time. There's an add-on to get it back but I found it caused stability issues (somewhere around version 28/29) so I got rid of it. I still prefer FF to Chrome. -- ============================================================== Rodney Baker VK5ZTV rodney.baker@iinet.net.au ============================================================== -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

One thing it did was break ShowIP. I used to have the IP address of the sites I visited in the lower right corner. Not now, since Firefox broke it. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
