I noticed that Suse doesn't emulate 3 buttons by default. For the beginners i advice this: edit the file "/etc/XF86config" and in the pointer section add those 2 lines: Emulate3Buttons Emulate3Timeout 50 -Wahid- -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Actually, SaX does allow you to set this, in the mouse configuration, but as you say doesn't do it by default. (That would be really annoying for those of us with three-button mice. :-)) -- Rachel -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Actually that's the way it's setup on my system. I got rid of the old mouse and put in a logitech 3 button. But I never took out the emulate line. Which is good since half the time I forget about the third button and do it the old way. Now I'd love to know what option to give Xfree 4.0 for it to use the wheel on the mouse. Setting mouse to auto ends up with Xfree complaining it can't figure out the protocol on it's own-( Nick -- Nick Zentena "The Linux issue," Wladawsky-Berger explained, "is whether this is a fundamentally disruptive technology, like the microprocessor and the Internet? I'm using an intellimouse but heres what you need to put in your /etc/X11/XF86config file for the wheel to work. Your protocol line might be different. Plus you need to be using a pgm called imwheel. It needs to be started when you startx by creating an entry in your autostart folder on your kde desktop to execute an "imwheel -k". (IF using KDE). All this worked fine for me even with x4.0. The file /.etc/imwheelrc can be tailored to make the wheel scrool by page or line(s) at a time. Plus you can search the archives for more info. That's where I learned of it.
