[opensuse] knetworkmanager
Hi, I am writing this because my wireless is still not working. I was able to get it working today on my 32 bit 11.1 immediately after the 11.1 installation. But later today it stopped working and won't restart now. It is giving the same indications now with the linux native driver as it did with the ndiswrapper installation, that is, it will scan and present all the local wireless networks using the ifup scan button. But I can't connect to the internet when I try to launch my web browser. When I try to use the knetworkmanager, the icon is grayed out and says "Network manager is not running." It doesn't display any wireless networks. It seems like the radio transceiver is working, but for some reason it isn't working with the operating system. Anyone have any idea how this can be fixed? Do you have any valuable messages in /var/log/messages or /var/log/NetworkManager? Helmut -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi, I've been playing around with knetworkmanager for a couple of days and got it to work now consistently. I still can't get the ifup method to work. I looked in the var/log's and found the reason code for why it won't work with ifup, but haven't been able to find the reason code explanations anywhere. I tried man NetworkManager and also google.com/linux, but haven't come up with the codes explanations. Where might these be found?
