Re: [opensuse] Setting domain name in Yast
Changing the order of the values in /etc/hosts from
acme acme.ramboll.ramboll-group.global.network
to
acme.ramboll.ramboll-group.global.network acme
Did the trick. Not only did hostname now return the correct value, but
YaST now shows the Domain Name.
So the question is why YaST does not set this as it should be when one
sets the Domain Name. Especially given that YaST itself is confused
about the Domain Name because of this omission.

The time was really 8:10. My mistake. Anyway, here is what it said:
# cat /etc/hostname acme.ramboll.ramboll-group.global.network
# grep acme /etc/hosts 10.2.10.41 acme acme.ramboll.ramboll-group.global.network
# hostname -f -v gethostname()=`acme' Resolving `acme' ... Result: ai_canonname[0]=`acme' Result: ai_addr[0]=`10.2.10.41' acme
Ah, sorry, I did read that.
Try this in /etc/hosts instead:
10.2.10.41 acme.ramboll.ramboll-group.global.network acme
