I am having issues bonding nics here. I have gotten it to work in opensus 10 before. Using 10.3 now. I've tried many different varations that others says have worked for them. It is acting like there is not ifcfg-bond0 and that eth1 is on dhcp. My current ifcfg-bond0 BOOTPROTO='static' BONDING_MASTER='yes' BONDING_MODULE_OPTS=''mode=balance-rr miimon=100' BONDING_SLAVE0='eth0' BONDING_SLAVE0='eth1' BRADCAST='' ETHTOOL_OPTIONS='' IPADDR='x.x.x.x/25' MTU='' NAME='' NETWORK='' REMOTE_IPADDR='' STARTMOD='onboot' USERCONTROL='no' PREFIXLEN='' my current ifcfg-eth0 DEVICE=eth0 BOOTPROTO='none' #also tried static BRADCAST='' ETHTOOL_OPTIONS='speed 100 duplex full autonet off' IPADDR='' MTU='' NAME='Compaq NC7782 Gigabit Server Adapter (PCI-X, 10,100,1000-T)' NETMASK='' NETWORK='' REMOTE_IPADDR='' STARTMODE='' USERCONTROL='no' MASTER=bond0 SLAVE=yes my current ifcfg-eth1 DEVICE=eth1 BOOTPROTO='none' BRADCAST='' ETHTOOL_OPTIONS='speed 100 duplex full autonet off' IPADDR='' MTU='' NAME='Compaq NC7782 Gigabit Server Adapter (PCI-X, 10,100,1000-T)' NETMASK='' NETWORK='' REMOTE_IPADDR='' STARTMODE='' USERCONTROL='no' MASTER=bond0 SLAVE=yes /var/log/messages shows only eth1 tryign to get a dhcp address and failing when I restart the service. yast is is piece of crap, has blank bond slaves, except once the last time i tried using it, but yast has always seen the nics. I would post logs, but thats to much typing. Logs only show eth1 trying dhcp and getting 169.254.205.x address. Uninstallign dhcp claism it will break yast network stuff, but I may do anyways. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

This must be set to 'off'. The same changes are necessary for your eth1 device. The relevant change for bonding is the STARTMODE however. HTH, cheers. l8er manfred -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
