[SLE] LCD monitor and suse 8.2 and suse 10.0
I have new ViewSonic LCD monitor VP2130 and during suse 10.0 new installation at the point when suse starts graphical interface the monitor gives massage 'Out of Range' referring to too high frequency (75 Hz instead 60 Hz) and I can't continue. Initially I considered this only as a suse 8.2 problem, but now it looks as more serious. Any ideas ?

I suggest you check the sax2 man page for details as I don't have access to SuSE 8.2 man pages. You could try sax2 -l Start in low resolution mode sax2 --vesa 0:1024x768@60 Change the resolution to suit Note:- You must be running in "init 3" mode to run sax2 If you are having problems installing I suggest you install in text mode, set up your display using sax2 and then set the runlevel to init 5. -- Regards, Graham Smith

One solution that I found in the Administration Guide and always worked for me, both in 8.2 and 10.0: instead of sax2 run xf86config, which can be done in a text console. In 10.0 you can also run xorgconfig; xf86config is a link to it. It involves answering a number of questions, the frequencies being among them.
