Does anyone know of an open source e-mail list manager for publishing an e-zine or newsletter?
If this is the wrong list, a pointer would be greatly appreciated.
I was going to be a smartass and mention the manager of this list. However, I think it is Lyris, which is definately not OSS. Two which I have used in the past are EzMLM and Mailman. EzMLM - http://rucus.ru.ac.za/~guy/ezmlm/ Mailman - http://sourceforge.net/projects/mailman -- kai ponte www.perfectreign.com linux - genuine windows replacement part

EzMLM - http://rucus.ru.ac.za/~guy/ezmlm/
Mailman - http://sourceforge.net/projects/mailman --
Both of these are nice, but all I need is something which will capture name and e-mail address from a web-page, save it in a data base, and send a newsletter or ezine to the list of subscribers in the database. I don't want to start another discussion list like this one, but if I decide to add that later, I know where to find the software ;-) -- John Gilger Freelance Copywriter http://jgilger.com

So... you need a spamming tool, to send email to people that have not requested being emailed by you, so that you need to scan and parse the web to obtain their addresses? :-/ - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFDxEHftTMYHG2NR9URAuqRAKCLOzt3z8wggFl6LANQUVWRaALxjQCglOYW 7oPLArzLehUEM3I/0yd68jQ= =KbnH -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

By "capture name and e-mail address from a web page" I thought he meant a web page with a signup form. Well, mailman does that, but nobody would refer to what it does by "capture name and e-mail address from a web-page". On the face value of what the OP says, he wants to spam people. :-/ - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFDxGW4tTMYHG2NR9URAlRmAJ9H42xjXCbaLgoq3o6N2nfzXjMuHQCbBhn1 EW2BHbK4ji8oMUXxBSns2wM= =eGn5 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Don't be ridiculous! I simply want a tool to take input from my "Subscribe to My Newsletter" form on my site, store it in a database, and send the newsletter to the subscribers in the database. John

I really hope you are sincere. Next time, please choose better wording: "capture from a webpage" does seem to mean otherwise. :-| - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFDxPawtTMYHG2NR9URAiysAJ0TvSlhx6Yk9Z1Fi1Ft/hILDBIwHwCfZKpx O4BNaezwmIb040JJ5IJZXto= =vpNb -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Provided you write the ezine or newsletter, mailman will do all of the above. /Per Jessen, Zürich
