[opensuse] some small problems with upgrade
Hello, I decided yesterday to upgrade my desktop from 42.1 to 42.2. I disabled all repos but the 4 main one and did a zypper dup added packman and made a zypper dup -from Packman_Repository then added the other (OBS) repos and zypper dup no problem, the system works pretty well. right now I have/had only very little problems: * numlock was no more on at boot. Added the option in plasma, hope it works (not tested) * thunderbird when I click on a link open the page in firefox as expected, but the screen do not anymore go to the page (the firefox icon blinks on the task bar) I will add if I found other thing globally a success jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I think that is a firefox setting - to go to the most recent page or something like that. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (4.1°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - dedicated server rental in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

On Firefox, when I open a new tab, the program switches immediately to it. may be some new thunderbird setup? Not very important what I would have liked is to go back to Th when closing the given tag :-) jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I don't think TB has any control over how FF behaves. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (6.4°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - virtual servers, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

When I click on Thunderbird on a link, a new tab opens in Firefox and the focus switches to it, but only if Firefox is in the same desktop. This is not the default behaviour in XFCE: the default is to bring Firefox to the current desktop and set the focus on it. I disabled this. On closing the tab, nothing happens, the focus remains on the browser. So the behaviour is related to the desktop configuration you have. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. AFAIK, the behaviour is determined by xdg-open, which does indeed behave differently depending on what desktop you have. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

my usual config, as always, is to have thunderbird in desktop 1 and Firefox in desktop 3 (I have 8) and I use kde, so, I guess, plasma I will ask on mozilla forum thanks jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Just been through resolving this one myself. Nothing you set within Plasma, in YaST, or in your BIOS settings will take effect to force numlock on. You have to edit the file /etc/sddm.conf and add: [General] Numlock=on -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

for me the plasma config did the trick. At least in kde, numlock is now on by default (setup as always on) jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
