[opensuse] KDE4 scribus properties and kcalc windows at the same time
Hello: This occurs in openSUSE 13.1 with KDE4. I use scribus and it's properties window. When I start kcalc, the properties window of scribus disappears, get inactivated in the panel task bar. If I activate it clicking it in the panel task bar, kcalc becomes inactivated. I cannot have both in activated mode. How can I fix this? I have to enter into kcalc values I read from scribus properties window. Hello: I played a little bit with this. 1. It occurs in KDE3 too. I don't have other desktops (gnome, xfce, lxde) installed. If someone uses one of these I'd greatly appreciated if could test it for me. 2. It occurs not only to properties window but every secondary windows in scribus (layers, outline etc). 3. It occurs not only when kcalc is activated but when any other window is activated. Once more the symptom: When a secondary window is opened in scribus, it disappears if another (non-scribus) window is activated. The secondary window is visible only if scribus' main windows is the active window. When scribus' main window is active, all opened scibus windows (the main window and every secondary windows) are represented (have an entry) in the task bar. If any non-scribus windows is activated, only scribus' main window has an entry in the task bar, other scribus windows disappear from the task bar. I find this behavior annoying. All opened windows should be visible unless I click minimize, and all secondary windows should have the task bar enrty even if they're not active. Is this a scribus issue, or qt or something else? This doesn't occur in gimp or xsane which also have multiple windows. Hello: I found an option in KDE (both in KDE3 and KDE4) which controls this behavior: "Hind utility windows for inactive applications" In KDE4 it's in systemsettings (start menu/configure desktop) / Workspace Appearance and Behavior / Window Behavior / Window Behavior (submenu) / Advanced (tab) / under Special Windows. In KDE3 it's in kcontrol (start menu/Personal Settings (Configure Desktop) / Desktop / Window Behavior / Advanced tab (last check box on page).
