I can't make kde/plasma accept my full hd script (see other thread), so I may as well revert to xfce that do (keeping kde apps). I have just now two things I miss from kde, are they feasible with xfce?: * make applications (thunderbird, firefox, chromium, kpat) open always on the same desktop/workspace? * have all the open applications icons available in the taskbar, not only the current desktop/workspace? thanks jdd -- http://dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

but they do. systemsettings5 -> window management -> window rules but you may have to play a little with it. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

oh, yes, but xfce don't care, I had this set up since kde use. May be there is a way to make xfce use the kde setting? thanks jdd -- http://dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I do that. I have multiple spaces using KDE/plasma, one labelled 'thunderbird', and another 'firefox' ... I use the ability of the window frame to bind to a particular workspace. Right click on the top window bar (NOT the application bar!), choose "More actions" then the two 'configure window settings'. I found this in the web pages on KDE help.
* have all the open applications icons available in the taskbar, not only the current desktop/workspace?
I'm not sure what yo mean by that. Are you talking about one of the widget in the bottom bar? I think that might depend on the widget you use. One such I have is titled 'task manager' and the options are Show only task: [ ] From current screen [x] From current desktop [x] From current activity [ ] That are minimized. I suspect what you want would invovle unchecking the two I have checked. I only use one workspace but have six (labelled and application specific) desktops. I KISS 'cos I'm easily overwhelmed. -- A: Yes. > Q: Are you sure? >> A: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation. >>> Q: Why is top posting frowned upon? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I have this with firefox, and I don't know how it happened. When firefox opens, it remember that some windows were in desktop 3, other in number 6, other in number 9... I don't know if this is new feature of firefox or of XFCE.

Yes, this is doable. I know because I don't like it and change to only show the current desktop apps. But I don't remember exactly where. You have to visit: Settings Appearance Session and Startup Window Manager Window Manager Tweaks <== Workspaces Tweaks has "cycle trhough windows on all worskpaces" - no, this is not it. I don't see it, but I know it is somewhere. I have to go. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)

I didn't find what I search there, but may be it's only because I don't understand the vocabulary. there may be also config file options somewhere. If nobody knows here, I may ask on an xfce forum thanks jdd -- http://dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Maybe the best... i have only done some manual configurations of windowsize at a raspbian and that is lxde: .config/openbox/lxde-pi-rc.xml so i do not think this will help. -- www.becherer.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
