Greeting, Off Topic, A certain company in SA is developing software for Linux when they are all windows developers. In there contract they were instructed to develop for a Linux platform. So they sat down and spent 1 year on the project using their windows PCs. Now the deliver the software uncompiled and suggest that we compile it for Linux ourselves. So I do, and I had to redo all of their naming conventions. Then I got is sort of of working. But not being a programmer I got stuck, much fighting and debating folowed, and they reluctantly come to our site and try fix it. Then while I was on leave this guy formats the Linux box and attempts to reload it. When he fails he turned around and said bad things about linux. So I asked hime if he had ever used Linux? he repsonded NO because its S??T! So asked him again & again with the same answer from him. Eventually I had to be quit abrupt and demand to know whether hehad ever used a Linux box. And he replied "NO" suprise suprise? So I repremanded him about saying things about something he had never tried. He left my offices very embarrased. Isn't it curious how these people critise what they fear, and they fear what they don't know. Instead of being honest and saying "I DON'T KNOW" Anyway to cut a long story short, how the heck do I change the utf-8 to utf-16 so the java software will work properly?
