[opensuse] Strange files
As I predicted, new questions have popped up, and rather more quickly than I expected. I havefound the following files in my root directory: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 2008-02-12 20:23 Ismerkedsz? and -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 2008-02-12 20:23 pénzügyeidet I have no idea where they sprang from. They look for all the world like Hungarian, but certainly look improbable. What are they -- Stan Goodman Qiryat Tiv'on Israel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

They are in the signature of Istvan Gabor, the OP in the thread about Alt+Shift and keyboard layouts. It seems to be some sort of advertisement Istvan, perhaps you can explain what klikkbank.hu is? When someone gives you an instruction, just do it, rather than predicting what you believe the output will be. Problems are not resolved based on the predictions of tests which are never run.

You both have a valid point: Never just copy, paste & execute - if you don't know what you're doing, since you could be doing everything.. but on the other hand: Aaron is right too: an unexpected output would be worth tons of time - but will coast tons of time if uncatched. Sure we all know what it _should_ return (and, respecting your point - that's good! since he shouldn't do anything he isn't totally unaware of), but what if it really return something strange? (beside it's no big act.. ;) ) Greetings Michael (yes I'm aware that Stan already followed another trace to his problem..)

The files are dated 2 February. I was dealing with efax-gtk at that time. I did run the program as root at least once. Can that be the source of the files? If so, I can delete them and forget about them. -- Stan Goodman Qiryat Tiv'on Israel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I seriously doubt it. How could a fax program turn an email signature into files on the hard drive Anders -- Madness takes its toll -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I can't think of any way at all that anything external could have turned his email signature into file names. Is he associated with efax-gtk in any way? Maybe that's how he leaves his signature when the program is installed. In any case, now I don't see why I shouldn't delete the files. They have 0 size, and there is no obvious reason why anybody's email signature should be in my root directory. -- Stan Goodman Qiryat Tiv'on Israel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hello: I've just read this thread. These are not my signatures. My email provider attaches advertisements containing these words at the end of my outgoing mails. I have no any idea how they became files. IG NE MOZDULJ-RENDELJ KÉNYELMESEN! VIDEÓ termékbemutatóink az AEG-márkaboltba visznek!
