My needs are modest, really, but as you know music requires 'chains' of apps because there isn't one (especially not in 'do only one thing' linux) that does them all. I just fixed in rosegarden a bug that's been irritating the living puck out of me for over a year, FINALLY I did what I think is a real nice digital rendition of Bells Of Rhymney (to become my backing track for guitar) and I wanted to save video or at least audio to that end as well as to go about and brag to anyone who will listen. For this I need Jack or qjackctl, rosegarden *with ZASF-dssi*, and either rosegarden internal audio capture, jack_capture or SimpleScreenRecorder to work. Well, in the seven distros that I have installed not one gets all of these working. Either jack_capture don't work, or qjackctl doesn't detect something, or rosegarden has no ZASF-dssi, or it does but has no instrument droplist, or rosegarden internal audio captures only emptyness, or SimpleScreenRecorder cuts out after seconds. Anybody know a good anger-managment app that could save my computer?

I've had decent success recording atleast stereo audio into Open Broadcast Studio (OBS) although I was recording into Video. I think Ardour and Audacity might both do just audio recording better then simple screen recorder, although ardour is certainly more complex. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B
