According to http://www.suse.de/en/private/products/suse_linux/i386/index.html 8.2 will be out after 11 April, but you can look forward to the usual storms on the list when it doesn't reach some folks till 12 April, and there will be many protests about how many delays SuSE have allowed to occur when they should have been rushing it out. Usually this group of protesters consider themselves to have the personal targets of Another SuSE Conspiracy. Then you can draw breath briefly before the next storm of protest that it wasn't ready for release and should have spent another six months in development, and has too much / not enough / all the wrong things in it, and it doesn't incorporate the latest release of fnargs-experimental-0.001.rpm :-) However, I'm sure it will be worth waiting for, as usual ... Best Fergus

You neglected the blizzard of messages which will follow asking where to download the .iso's, with the inevitable s***storm of replies about freeloaders and business models. This of course followed by the high front of questions asking when 8.3 is going to be released ;-O have a great day - -- dh Don't shop at GoogleGear.com! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+jFpmBwgxlylUsJARAmyhAJ9A2jnvavZcQs8kmMKxNIcM/SmsyACgl4eM XjJO22US0X8yl5NQVd8tgdU= =ZoQt -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Go to www.suse.com. You can pre-order it and it should ship in a couple of weeks.

be aware that product is built on 8.1 and there are many on this list ( not me , mine works well) , but some have had major issues w/ this 8.1 product. OTH it probably is going to be stable and "settled" And it's one I'd be more than happy to try as a first Linux desktop for a business . If I didn't' have custom icons folks would thing ( and some still do , that my personal desktop is a windows Xp or something , even w/o the hideous TelleTuby background .Generally I don't bother to enlighten them <G> The comments of Fergus Wilde , will not doubt come to pass and we will have a lot of noise on the list about its quality of production. And it's readiness for release. It happened every release . -- j Afterthought : The cost of feathers has risen. Now even down is up!

Although this appears to be a reply to a message of mine, there wasn't a word in it of mine.... I had problems with 8.1 and having bought it, I never used it. I'm hoping for better from 8.2. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S.
