I have again been informed that update for my 7.3 to level 8.0 has been backordered, this in spite of the SuSE site showing that 8.0 is now shipping and that many SuSE users - literally around the globe - have taken delivery, not to mention retailers. And also of interest is the listing for SuSE 8.0 in good old amazon.com to which reference was made yesterday. There is a little patch of fine print there which says that it cannot be shipped to Canada, so I presume - in spite of losing 4 soldiers to 'friendly fire' - we are now engraved on some paranoid terrorist list. Anyone else in the True North fare any better? All I can elicit from SuSE (via digitalriver.com) is they are sorry but they don't know when, but they wont charge me until they ship. I thought that was rather sporty of them :-) George -- George Walsh, Managing Director, CruiseRoutes Division, DSC Directional Services Corp Courtenay, British Columbia, Canada __________________________________________________________________ Your favorite stores, helpful shopping tools and great gift ideas. No, that's normal for Amazon not to ship software to Canada...it's a real PITA.

Hmmm, that's not good. They were supposed to have it last week. I'll tell sales and let you know what I find out. -- -ckm

Christopher; Best to check the entire Canadian vendor distribution system as me thinks there is not a single box to be found on our land. Nothing in British Columbia, nor Ontario nor the East coast based on last reports. Thats some 3200 linear miles of land that is void of SuSE 8.0...:) -- Chris H.

Should be....but can't yet. All they have at the moment is 7.2 Professional.....in French. And the FS stores around here aren't much help: "You want what?!?! Oh, Linux...well, we've got Mandrake 8.1 and Caldera 2.4...would you like extended warranty with that?" :-) Neil -- Neil Palmer, B.Ed. palmern@compusmart.ab.ca ICQ#636657 http://www.fdisk.org neilp@fdisk.org Perl Developer, CSM Systems neilp@csm-systems.com Procrastinator's Creed: 13.
