-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 HI all: I have two desktop problems that I have not been able to solve. One is the splash screen does not reach 100% and close it remains at 0% now and will disappear when clicked on. I tryed removeing the recommended file logging out with out the restore option and logging in but that did to help. Second is the fact that when I create links on the desktop to applications they donot work. When I look at the properties they look like all of the other functional icon links. From the right click context menu I choose create new then link to aplication. I then choose a icon and fill in the button name on the general tab, on the Execute tab if fill in the Command line by Browseing to the executable file. I then press ok to create the desktop icon/button. But when clicked on it does nothing. I am not able to locate the actual file that it creates to look at to see what the problem may be. Any assistance you can give for these too problems would be appreciated. I just posted a fix for your splash screen problem a couple hours ago The subject line was "Kde splash screen - long time to log out - icon repositioning - problems fix" As for you icon problem, I've never used the browse function I just type in the name of the program into the execute field. If you are using kde2.X it put then in a directory called KDesktop and gives the filename a .desktop sufix. Mark
