[opensuse] openSUSE 11.0 - updates offered without all dependencies
The current set of pulseaudio updates will not install because of the following dependencies: pulseaudio-utils-0.9.10-26.3.x86_64 requires libpulse-browse0 = 0.9.10, but this requirement cannot be provided pulseaudio-module-lirc-0.9.10-26.3.x86_64 requires pulseaudio = 0.9.10, but this requirement cannot be provided I imagine that I could install the missing items myself and try again, but should such dependencies not be part of the update package? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

We seem to have a conflict between those pulseaudio updates and stuff on the Packman repository. Do you have packman stuff installed? Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I don't know whether I still use that repository in 11.0 - I must have taken something from it for 10.3. With a bit of luck, rpm --queryformat can help you. With: $ rpm -q --queryformat "%{name} -- Distribution: %{distribution} Vendor: %{vendor}\n" <any packman package> you can check what packman writes into the Distribution: and Vendor: tags of their package, and if any of it is usable for your search. Then with a rather brute-force (for example) $ rpm -q --queryformat "%{name}: %{distribution}\n" | grep <repository-name> you can search all your packages. This example assumes that packman writes repository info into Distribution, which I actually don't know. The build service uses that tag. A list of all tags usable with --queryformat is available with: $ rpm --queryformat hope that helps, Sonja -- Sonja Krause-Harder (skh@suse.de) SUSE Research & Development ----------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE Linux Products GmbH GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nuernberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thanks. Packman was added to the repositories when I loaded some codecs, if I remember correctly. There is some other stuff installed from it which I do not recognise, too. Would it be better to disable Packman most of the time? Using YaST as you suggest is fine just to look at the list, but how do I generate a list which I could store or post (an extract from) here if necessary? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Not in my opinion. Once this problem gets sorted out (give it a few days) I would always have packman enabled. For the the most part their stuff is high quality. -- ----------JSA--------- There are 10 kinds of people in this world, those that can read binary and those that can't. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Check is packman repository really for openSUSE 11.0. I had problems and few days ago took time to cleanup list from repositories that I will not use anymore and surprise, there was packman for 10.3. I can't recall when it was last time that I entered packman by hand, actually when I changed anything except enable-disable flag. Anyway after changing URL to point to 11.0, problems disappeared.

I keep it that way. Except mentioned problems, that keeps shorter software management startup time.

Move mouse cursor in list of packages and right click. Answer is at the bottom of context menu. If you want to export all list of all installed packages, than look at File > Export The lists are xml files that you can import in another installation. -- Regards, Rajko http://en.opensuse.org/Portal needs helpful hands. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Idea is good, but it doesn't work. Resulting pkglist.txt is empty. I should look in, instead to assume non-zero length is sign of proper work. I'll file bug report later. The other method exports something, but now I have to check what category of packages is listed there. -- Regards, Rajko http://en.opensuse.org/Portal needs helpful hands. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Ciao, Marcus
I've run into the same issue. There are some packages not in the packman repo. I've downloaded the packages manually to try to find where the problem is. @opensuse11 ~/Downloads] sudo rpm -Uvh pulseaudio-0.9.11-0.pm. 2.x86_64.rpm libpulse-mainloop-glib0-0.9.11-0.pm.2.x86_64.rpm libpulse0-0.9.11-0.pm.2.x86_64.rpm libpulse-browse0-0.9.11-0.pm. 2.x86_64.rpm libpulsecore6-0.9.11-0.pm.2.x86_64.rpm pulseaudio- libs-0.9.11-0.pm.2.x86_64.rpm libpulse-simple0-0.9.11-0.pm.2.x86_64.rpm root's password: warning: pulseaudio-0.9.11-0.pm.2.x86_64.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 9a795806 error: Failed dependencies: pulseaudio = 0.9.10 is needed by (installed) pulseaudio- module-lirc-0.9.10-26.3.x86_64 pulseaudio = 0.9.10 is needed by (installed) pulseaudio- module-bluetooth-0.9.10-26.3.x86_64 pulseaudio = 0.9.10 is needed by (installed) pulseaudio- esound-compat-0.9.10-26.3.x86_64 pulseaudio = 0.9.10 is needed by (installed) pulseaudio- module-zeroconf-0.9.10-26.3.x86_64 pulseaudio = 0.9.10 is needed by (installed) pulseaudio- module-x11-0.9.10-26.3.x86_64 pulseaudio = 0.9.10 is needed by (installed) pulseaudio- module-gconf-0.9.10-26.3.x86_64 libpulse-mainloop-glib0 = 0.9.10 is needed by (installed) pulseaudio-utils-0.9.10-26.3.x86_64 libpulse0 = 0.9.10 is needed by (installed) pulseaudio- utils-0.9.10-26.3.x86_64 libpulse-browse0 = 0.9.10 is needed by (installed) pulseaudio- utils-0.9.10-26.3.x86_64 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
